Positive: We loved the experience of staying on a houseboat in Amsterdam. We rented bikes for the entire week which made it very easy to explore the city. My daughter enjoyed feeding the ducks from the houseboat window. My kids slept in the tiny-yet-cozy bunk room and my husband and I had the large bedroom at the end of the boat. We really appreciated the large living area with dining table, the outdoor seating on the deck next to the Amstel river, and the large closet in the hallway for storing clothes. This houseboat has everything you need - kitchenette with small refrigerator, coffee machine, hair dryer. Based on the description of the property and the amenities, I was slightly hesitant but once we arrived I was very pleased. We booked the entire boat with occupancy for 4 people which included access to the entire boat and use of the kitchenette (but not the locked kitchen cabinet for an additional fee, nor the use of the living room wallbed for an addiitional fee. Hope that info helps for others who are considering.) The De Pijp neighborhood and the Albert Cuyp market is a short 10 min walk away where you can buy anything you need. We purchased groceries at Albert Heijn on Weesperpoort (10 min walk). We also enjoyed delicious pastries from Bakhuys Amsterdam, pizza at Lou Lou, dinner at De Ysbreejer, pastel de nata at Mr Nata, all within walking distance. We took the kids to Oosterpark a couple times also - great playgrounds and green space. We'd definitely stay here again. Loved waking up on the water. We experienced some minor technical issues with the heating and power during our stay but the owner was super responsive and quick to resolve, no complaints once we got everything sorted out.
